Pushback 109

Hi folks. It's been a little more challenging to find "good" news of people and organizations fighting back against the Trump administration this week because he's absolutely flooding the zone with crazy authoritarian shit. But please don't despair! People are fighting back. Clergy (and others) are putting their bodies on the line in Illinois, and people are confronting ICE all over the country. He has declared war on American cities, and we need to take every opportunity to stand up against it. Please commit to protesting on October 18 (and any other chance you get), even if it's just stepping outside your own house with a sign. I will be protesting in NYC that day. Let me know if you want to march together.

On the Rebuild side of this operation, I have expanded my piece on The Next Ten Amendments, which I've also printed up as a zine. Please share my column with anyone you know, but especially elected officials and candidates for office. I had coffee with former Senator Jon Tester and gave him my pitch and a copy of my zine. I felt weird and crazy, but also like now is the time to take big swings on ambitious political action. I hope you'll join me in demanding bigger changes.

One more thing. You may have noticed that this newsletter has changed a little. I've decided to bring my other blogs to Ghost (the web platform for The Pushback) and I've assembled them under the umbrella of The Bureau of Ideas. You should continue to get this newsletter as usual. Feel free to subscribe to the other two if you are interested, but all three will show up on the website together.
