Pushback 124
Finally, it's over. 2025, I mean. There have been a lot of years when I've said, "this was the worst year," but I think 2025 really takes the prize. I've had worse years personally, and so far, more people probably died in a Reagan or Bush year that have died this year, but Trump, Stephen Miller, Pete Hegseth, RFK Jr., Marco Rubio, and Kristi Noem are certainly hell-bent on laying the groundwork for an insane body count driven by ignorance and racism.
But what 2025 demonstrated is that pushing back has meaningful consequences, and all around us are stories of regular people, and even a few elected officials and appointed judges, who are standing up and fighting for what's right. We've also seen a lot of disloyalty from GOP. I think this snowball will keep rolling right into 2026. Now that the shock and awe of the first few months wore off, the momentum in favor or democracy became clear. Keep the faith, shake the dust of 2025 off your shoes, and get ready for the fight ahead. You just won't be doing it at a concert at the Kennedy Center, that's for damn sure.
